Sarah Kolb

Singing Teacher & Vocal Coach based in Angel/Islington, London

I work with teenage and adult singers of all levels who are itching to finally build vocal technique and understand how their voice works.

Singing can feel incredibly vulnerable. I strive to create a supportive, non-judgemental and collaborative environment where you can be free to explore, build safe technique and gain a deeper understanding of voice, body and music. My mission is to guide you towards joy, authenticity and confidence in your singing and help you build skills that will last a lifetime.

I’m a multi-platform voice user myself: as a musical theatre performer and voice actor, CCM singing teacher, certified Kodály music educator and Vocal Health First Aider in training, I know a thing or two about how the voice works - and how to put it to use!

Singing is a skill that can be cultivated like any other. Whatever your vocal goals are, I'm confident we can achieve them together.

Student Testimonials

  • My singing lesson with Sarah is something I look forward to every week. The ease and flexibility with which she teaches vocal technique and acting through song skills is what sets her apart from other singing teachers. Whenever I struggle with finding a specific voice quality or feeling she always finds a new way to explain it to me. Working with Sarah has been one of the most professional and positive experiences I have had as a young singer.

  • I've been meaning to get back to singing for years - and under Sarah's supportive and capable guidance, I'm rediscovering my voice in a completely new light! In addition to Sarah's deep technical knowledge, I really appreciate her ability to adapt to my learning style and pace. Her lessons are thoughtfully structured, with a grounding warm-up, thematic voice exercises and plenty of dedicated time to explore the material that I wanted to work on.

  • A skilled, adaptable, and patient teacher, Sarah is always able to meet me at my current understanding of singing and guide me onwards, stretching my knowledge and what I thought I was capable of! Sarah backs up her teaching with examples and actionable feedback that make you realise your progress in such a short space of time.

  • Sarah is an amazing singing teacher! Having loved rock music for most of my life, I wanted to find out more about what it is about the genre that makes it unique, and how to give my voice that rocky edge. Sarah helped me understand what it means to be a rock vocalist both on a practical, exercise-based level, and through understanding the anatomy of the voice and body. Whether it's vocal technique, musicianship or styling you're after, Sarah's got it.
